Router Networking Method and System, Child Router, and Parent Router - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17922256 titled 'Router Networking Method and System, Child Router, and Parent Router

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method for networking routers, specifically a child router that can be combined with a parent router. The child router is initially connected to the parent router and accesses a first network. It obtains networking information from this network, which it uses to access a second network provided by the parent router. The child router can then be detached from the parent router and connected to a target interface, where it can access the second network using the networking information.

  • The method involves combining a child router with a parent router to create a network connection.
  • The child router initially accesses a first network and obtains networking information from it.
  • This networking information allows the child router to access a second network provided by the parent router.
  • The child router can be detached from the parent router and connected to a different interface to access the second network.

Potential Applications

  • This method can be used in home or office networks to easily add or remove routers without disrupting the network connection.
  • It can be useful in situations where temporary or portable network connections are needed, such as in events or temporary workspaces.
  • The method can also be applied in scenarios where network isolation is required between different networks.

Problems Solved

  • The method solves the problem of easily adding or removing routers from a network without causing disruptions or reconfigurations.
  • It provides a solution for accessing different networks using a single router device.
  • The method addresses the need for network isolation between different networks.

Benefits

  • The method simplifies the process of networking routers and allows for easy reconfiguration of network connections.
  • It provides flexibility in accessing different networks using a single router device.
  • The method ensures network isolation between different networks, enhancing security and privacy.

Original Abstract Submitted

A router networking method includes a child router that is coupled with an interface of the parent router, to be combined with the parent router, where a network corresponding to the interface is a first network, network isolation exists between the first network and a second network, and the second network is a local area network provided by the parent router. The child router accesses the first network and obtains networking information from the first network, where the networking information is used to access the second network. The child router is unplugged from the interface of the parent router to be detached from the parent router. The child router is coupled with a target interface, where a network corresponding to the target interface is the second network, and the child router accesses the second network based on the networking information using the target interface.
