METHOD, USER EQUIPMENT AND BASE STATION FOR LINK FAILURE REPORTING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17919877 titled 'METHOD, USER EQUIPMENT AND BASE STATION FOR LINK FAILURE REPORTING

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method, terminal, and base station for reporting link failures in a communication network. The method involves transmitting a message to a base station indicating that the user equipment (UE) has information related to link failure reporting. In response, the UE receives a request message from the base station for the link failure information. The UE then transmits the requested information to the base station, which includes details about the link failures and their duration.

  • The method allows a UE to report link failures to a base station.
  • The UE stores information related to link failure reporting.
  • The UE transmits a link failure report message to the base station.
  • The base station requests the link failure information from the UE.
  • The UE transmits the requested information to the base station.
  • The information includes details about the link failures and their duration.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Improving network reliability and performance by identifying and addressing link failures promptly.
  • Enhancing communication services by minimizing disruptions caused by link failures.
  • Enabling network operators to proactively monitor and troubleshoot link failures.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Link failures can cause interruptions and degradation in communication services.
  • Identifying and resolving link failures can be time-consuming and challenging.
  • Lack of timely reporting of link failures can lead to prolonged service disruptions.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Enables efficient reporting and resolution of link failures.
  • Facilitates proactive monitoring and maintenance of communication networks.
  • Reduces downtime and improves overall network reliability.
  • Enhances user experience by minimizing service disruptions.

Original Abstract Submitted

The disclosure provides a method, a terminal and a base station for link failure reporting. The method for link failure reporting comprises: transmitting, to a first base station (B S), a first link failure report message indicating that the UE stores information related to link failure reporting; in response to transmitting the first link failure report message, receiving, from the first BS, a first information request message including a request for the information related to the link failure reporting; and in response to receiving the first information request message, transmitting, to the first BS, first information including the information related to the link failure reporting, wherein the information related to the link failure reporting includes at least one of first link failure information, second link failure information, or information of time length.
