PRIVACY ENFORCER - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17918079 titled 'PRIVACY ENFORCER

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a data protection broker node and its methods. It explains that the node performs a bootstrap operation to initialize a blockchain and obtain a trusted temporary public identifier for a user. It then receives a request for a new transaction from the user and adds it to the blockchain. The user is authorized to use the trusted identifier to protect their data privacy during transactions.

  • A data protection broker node is provided.
  • The node performs a bootstrap operation to initialize a blockchain.
  • During the bootstrap operation, a trusted temporary public identifier is obtained for the user.
  • The node receives a request for a new transaction from the user.
  • The new transaction is joined to the blockchain.
  • The user is authorized to use the trusted temporary public identifier for privacy protection during their transactions.

Potential Applications

  • Data protection and privacy in blockchain-based systems.
  • Secure and private transactions involving sensitive user data.
  • Identity verification and authorization in decentralized networks.

Problems Solved

  • Lack of privacy protection in blockchain transactions.
  • Difficulty in securely initializing a blockchain and obtaining trusted identifiers.
  • Challenges in authorizing users and protecting their data during transactions.

Benefits

  • Enhanced privacy and data protection for users in blockchain networks.
  • Secure and trusted initialization of blockchains.
  • Simplified authorization process for users.
  • Improved trust and security in decentralized systems.

Original Abstract Submitted

A data protection broker node and methods are provided. In one embodiment, the data protection broker node is configured to perform a bootstrap operation between a user and the data protection broker node, to initialize a blockchain; as a result of the bootstrap operation, obtain a trusted temporary public identifier identifying the user; receive a request for a new transaction associated with the user and join the new transaction to the blockchain; and authorize the user to use the trusted temporary public identifier to perform a user transaction to protect a privacy of the user's data.
