REFRIGERATOR - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17917695 titled 'REFRIGERATOR

Simplified Explanation

The present disclosure describes a refrigerator that uses a single evaporator to supply cool air to a refrigerating compartment, a freezing compartment, and an ice-making compartment.

  • The refrigerator has a cool air passage specifically for the ice-making compartment.
  • The cool air passage for the ice-making compartment supplies cool air to the upper space in the cool air passage for the freezing compartment.
  • The cool air passage for the freezing compartment supplies cool air to both the refrigerating compartment and the freezing compartment.
  • By using an upper supply passage, additional cool air is supplied to the cool air passage for the freezing compartment.
  • This ensures that sufficient cool air is supplied to both the refrigerating compartment and the freezing compartment using just one evaporator.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Household refrigerators
  • Commercial refrigerators
  • Industrial refrigeration systems

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient cooling of multiple compartments using a single evaporator
  • Ensuring sufficient cool air supply to all compartments
  • Simplifying the design and construction of refrigerators

Benefits of this technology:

  • Cost-effective solution for cooling multiple compartments
  • Energy-efficient operation
  • Compact design, saving space in the refrigerator
  • Improved cooling performance and temperature control

Original Abstract Submitted

The present disclosure relates to a refrigerator. The refrigerator is configured to supply cool air to a refrigerating compartment, a freezing compartment, and an ice-making compartment by a single evaporator. A cool air passage for the ice-making compartment for supplying cool air to the ice-making compartment is configured to supply the cool air to an upper space in a cool air passage for the freezing compartment, which. supplies cool air to the refrigerating compartment and the freezing compartment, through an upper supply passage. Accordingly, since additional cool air is supplied to the cool air passage for the freezing compartment by using the upper supply passage, sufficient cool air is supplied to the refrigerating compartment and the freezing compartment by the single evaporator.
