COMMON EVENT EXPOSURE IN NETWORK DOMAINS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17917660 titled 'COMMON EVENT EXPOSURE IN NETWORK DOMAINS

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method performed by an exposure node in a telecommunications network. The method involves requesting a subscription to an event of a communication device from a network node. The request includes subscription information for a common network exposure in multiple network domains. The exposure node then receives a response from the network node, which confirms whether the event will be reported to the exposure node for the second network domain or the first network domain.

  • The method involves an exposure node in a telecommunications network.
  • The exposure node initiates a request for a subscription to an event of a communication device.
  • The request includes subscription information for a common network exposure in multiple network domains.
  • The exposure node receives a response from the network node.
  • The response confirms whether the event will be reported to the exposure node for the second network domain or the first network domain.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Telecommunications networks
  • Communication devices
  • Network exposure management

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient management of network exposure in multiple network domains
  • Streamlining event reporting to exposure nodes

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved network exposure management
  • Enhanced communication device event reporting
  • Streamlined subscription process for exposure nodes

Original Abstract Submitted

A method performed by performed by an exposure node having a first identity in a first network domain in a telecommunications network is provided. The method includes initiating a request towards a first network node for a subscription to an event of a communication device. The request includes subscription information for a common network exposure in at least two network domains. The method further includes receiving a response from the first network node. The response includes at least one of: a first confirmation that the event will be reported to the exposure node for a second network domain for the common network exposure and a second confirmation that the event will be reported to the exposure node for the first network domain. The second confirmation omits an indication of the common network exposure. Methods performed by a first network node are also provided.
