PHASE NOISE COMPENSATION METHOD AND DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17911888 titled 'PHASE NOISE COMPENSATION METHOD AND DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The disclosed patent application describes a method for compensating phase noise in a terminal. Here is a simplified explanation of the abstract:

  • The terminal receives a signal that is transmitted using multiple symbols.
  • The method estimates the phase noise for each phase noise estimation section included in the multiple symbols in the time domain.
  • Each phase noise estimation section is included in cyclic prefixes (CPs) that are part of the respective multiple symbols.
  • Based on the estimated phase noise, the method performs phase noise compensation on the multiple symbols in the time domain.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Wireless communication systems
  • Mobile devices
  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices
  • Satellite communication systems

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Phase noise in wireless communication systems can cause signal degradation and affect the quality of communication.
  • Compensating for phase noise can improve the reliability and performance of wireless communication systems.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved signal quality and reliability in wireless communication systems.
  • Enhanced performance of mobile devices and IoT devices.
  • Better communication capabilities in satellite communication systems.

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed is a phase noise compensation method performed by a terminal. The terminal may: receive a signal, wherein the signal is transmitted via multiple symbols; estimate phase noise for each of multiple phase noise estimation sections included in the multiple symbols in the time domain, wherein each of the multiple phase noise estimation sections is included in cyclic prefixes (CPs) included in the respective multiple symbols; and perform the phase noise compensation on the multiple symbols in the time domain on the basis of the estimated phase noise.
