METHOD FOR MERGING AND TRANSMITTING, BY NETWORK, VRU MESSAGES IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM SUPPORTING SIDELINK, AND APPARATUS THEREFOR - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17911098 titled 'METHOD FOR MERGING AND TRANSMITTING, BY NETWORK, VRU MESSAGES IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM SUPPORTING SIDELINK, AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a method and apparatus for merging and transmitting Virtual Reality User (VRU) messages over a network. The method involves receiving a first VRU message containing information about a specific VRU and then merging multiple VRU messages received from different VRUs over a specific time period. The merged VRU messages are then transmitted through a downlink at a predetermined time.

  • The first VRU message is received through an uplink.
  • A second VRU message is created by merging multiple VRU messages received from different VRUs.
  • The decision to merge the first VRU message with the second VRU message is based on the calculated mobility change, which is determined using previous mobility information and the mobility information obtained from the first VRU message.
  • If the mobility change exceeds a predefined threshold, the first VRU message is transmitted separately without merging it with the second VRU message.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Virtual Reality applications: The method can be used in VR applications to efficiently merge and transmit VRU messages, improving the overall user experience.
  • Network optimization: By merging VRU messages, network resources can be utilized more efficiently, leading to improved network performance.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient message transmission: The method solves the problem of efficiently transmitting VRU messages by merging them and transmitting them at a specific time, reducing network congestion.
  • Mobility change detection: By calculating the mobility change, the method can determine whether to merge or transmit VRU messages separately, ensuring that the most relevant information is transmitted.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved user experience: By merging and transmitting VRU messages, the method ensures that users receive a comprehensive and up-to-date VR experience.
  • Network efficiency: By merging VRU messages and transmitting them at a specific time, the method optimizes network resources, leading to improved network performance and reduced congestion.

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed are a method for merging and transmitting, by a network, VRU messages and an apparatus therefor. The method comprises the steps of: receiving, through an uplink, a first VRU message including information on a first VRU; and transmitting, through a downlink at a preconfigured time point, a second VRU message in which a plurality of VRU messages received from a plurality of VRUs for a preconfigured time period are merged, wherein it is determined whether to merge the first VRU message with the second VRU message according to a mobility change calculated on the basis of previous mobility information on the first VRU and mobility information obtained from the first VRU message, and, when the mobility change is greater than or equal to a preconfigured threshold, the first VRU message is transmitted through the downlink without merging the first VRU message with the second VRU message.
