COLLISION HANDLING FOR SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL GUARD PERIOD AND A PHYSICAL UPLINK SHARED CHANNEL TRANSMISSION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17906791 titled 'COLLISION HANDLING FOR SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL GUARD PERIOD AND A PHYSICAL UPLINK SHARED CHANNEL TRANSMISSION

Simplified Explanation

The patent application relates to wireless communication and addresses the issue of collision between a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission and a guard period of a sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission. The collision occurs when the second SRS transmission and the PUSCH transmission use different sets of antenna ports of a user equipment (UE). The patent proposes a method for the UE to identify the collision and take appropriate action to mitigate it.

  • The patent application focuses on addressing collisions between PUSCH and SRS transmissions in wireless communication.
  • The collision occurs when the second SRS transmission and the PUSCH transmission use different sets of antenna ports of a UE.
  • The method involves the UE identifying the collision and taking action to mitigate it.
  • The action taken by the UE is based on the identification of the collision.
  • The patent application provides various aspects and techniques for mitigating the collision between the PUSCH and SRS transmissions.

Potential Applications

  • This technology can be applied in various wireless communication systems, such as cellular networks, to improve the efficiency and reliability of data transmission.
  • It can be used in 5G and future generations of wireless networks to enhance the performance of uplink transmissions.

Problems Solved

  • The patent application addresses the problem of collisions between PUSCH and SRS transmissions, which can degrade the performance of wireless communication systems.
  • By identifying and mitigating these collisions, the technology improves the overall efficiency and reliability of data transmission.

Benefits

  • The technology helps to optimize the use of antenna ports in a UE, reducing the likelihood of collisions between different types of transmissions.
  • By mitigating collisions, the technology improves the quality of service for wireless communication systems.
  • It enhances the overall performance and efficiency of uplink transmissions in cellular networks.

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify a collision between a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission and a guard period of a sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission, wherein the SRS transmission includes a first SRS transmission and a second SRS transmission, the second SRS transmission uses a first set of one or more antenna ports of the UE, and the PUSCH transmission uses a second set of one or more antenna ports of the UE; and perform an action to mitigate the collision based at least in part on identifying the collision. Numerous other aspects are provided.
