MIXED WAVEFORM COMMUNICATIONS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17886413 titled 'MIXED WAVEFORM COMMUNICATIONS

Simplified Explanation

- User equipment (UE) can receive information about frequency domain resources allocated for wireless communication. - The UE can also receive information about the waveform type associated with the allocated frequency domain resources. - The waveform type is determined based on the data type being communicated, used for a specific duration, and can be one of multiple types multiplexed over different frequency domain resources. - The UE communicates within the allocated frequency domain resources according to the indicated waveform type and data type.

Potential Applications

- Wireless communication systems - Mobile devices - Internet of Things (IoT) devices

Problems Solved

- Efficient allocation of frequency domain resources for wireless communication - Optimizing communication based on data type and waveform type

Benefits

- Improved data transmission efficiency - Enhanced communication reliability - Better utilization of available frequency resources

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a set of frequency domain resources allocated to the UE for communicating data over a wireless channel. The UE may receive an indication of a waveform type associated with the set of frequency domain resources. The waveform type may be based at least in part on a data type of the data, may be used for a defined amount of time, and may be one of a plurality of waveform types that are multiplexed together over different frequency domain resources within a total system bandwidth. The UE may communicate within the set of frequency domain resources according to the indicated waveform type and the data type.
