LAYER ONE/LAYER TWO (L1/L2) SIGNALING TO RELEASE CELLS CONFIGURED FOR L1/L2 INTER-CELL MOBILITY - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17879652 titled 'LAYER ONE/LAYER TWO (L1/L2) SIGNALING TO RELEASE CELLS CONFIGURED FOR L1/L2 INTER-CELL MOBILITY

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE). Here is a simplified explanation of the abstract:

  • The UE receives an indication of a mobility configured cell set, which is a group of cells.
  • The UE also receives signaling to release a selected cell from the mobility configured cell set.
  • In response to receiving the signaling, the UE releases the selected cell from the mobility configured cell set.
  • Releasing the selected cell can involve removing it from a carrier aggregation configuration or removing a mobility configuration for the selected cell.

Potential Applications:

  • This technology can be applied in cellular networks to improve the efficiency of wireless communication for user equipment.
  • It can be used to optimize the selection and release of cells in a cell set, leading to better network performance and user experience.

Problems Solved:

  • The method addresses the problem of efficiently managing the mobility of user equipment in a cellular network.
  • It solves the issue of releasing selected cells from a cell set in a controlled and optimized manner.

Benefits:

  • By releasing selected cells from a cell set, the method can help reduce interference and improve network capacity.
  • It allows for more efficient utilization of resources, leading to better overall network performance.
  • The method provides flexibility in managing the mobility of user equipment, enhancing the user experience.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving an indication of a mobility configured cell set having a number of cells. The method also includes receiving signaling to release a selected cell from the mobility configured cell set. The method further includes releasing the selected cell from the mobility configured cell set in response to receiving the signaling. In some aspects, releasing the selected cell comprises removing the selected cell from a carrier aggregation configuration. In other aspects, releasing the selected cell comprises removing a mobility configuration for the selected cell.
