SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SIDELINK RESOURCE SELECTION WITH BEAMFORMING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17878772 titled 'SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SIDELINK RESOURCE SELECTION WITH BEAMFORMING

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method for wireless communication that involves different procedures and steps. Here is a simplified explanation of the patent application:

  • A first node determines if a specific procedure (beam failure recovery, initial beam pair establishment, or beam refinement) is completed.
  • If the procedure is completed, the first node performs a sensing procedure.
  • The sensing procedure involves receiving sidelink control information (SCI) from a third node.
  • Based on the sensing procedure, the first node selects a sidelink grant for a sidelink transmission to a second node.
  • The first node then transmits the sidelink transmission to the second node using the selected sidelink grant.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Wireless communication systems that require efficient and reliable transmission between nodes.
  • Networks that utilize sidelink transmissions for specific purposes, such as device-to-device communication or machine-to-machine communication.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient utilization of wireless resources by determining when specific procedures are completed before performing further actions.
  • Improved reliability and performance of sidelink transmissions by selecting appropriate sidelink grants based on sensing procedures.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Enhanced wireless communication efficiency and reliability.
  • Improved overall performance of wireless networks.
  • Optimal utilization of wireless resources.
  • Better control and management of sidelink transmissions.

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed is a method for wireless communication. A first node determines that a beam failure recovery procedure, an initial beam pair establishment procedure, or a beam refinement procedure is completed. Based on the determination, the first node performs a sensing procedure that comprises receiving sidelink control information (SCI) from a third node. Based on the sensing procedure, the first node selects a sidelink grant for a sidelink transmission to a second node and transmits the sidelink transmission to the second node based on the selected sidelink grant.
