SERVER AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17871158 titled 'SERVER AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a server that determines the best delivery route for a package based on various factors such as location information, shipment readiness time, and means of transport. The server communicates with the terminals of the sender, deliverer, and receiver to gather necessary information and then determines multiple delivery plans based on estimated locations of the receiver at different time points. The final delivery plan is chosen based on factors like delivery time, safety of the receipt location, and means of transport of the deliverer. The server then transmits the final delivery plan to the terminals of the sender, deliverer, and receiver.

  • The server communicates with sender, deliverer, and receiver terminals to gather information.
  • It determines multiple delivery plans based on estimated receiver locations and shipment readiness time.
  • The final delivery plan is chosen based on factors like delivery time, safety, and means of transport.
  • The server transmits the final delivery plan to the sender, deliverer, and receiver terminals.

Potential Applications

  • Package delivery services can utilize this technology to optimize their delivery routes and improve efficiency.
  • E-commerce platforms can integrate this technology to provide accurate delivery time estimates to their customers.
  • Logistics companies can benefit from this technology by streamlining their delivery operations and reducing costs.

Problems Solved

  • Inefficient delivery routes can be a problem for package delivery services, leading to delays and increased costs. This technology helps solve this problem by determining the best delivery route based on various factors.
  • Lack of accurate delivery time estimates can be frustrating for customers. This technology addresses this issue by considering delivery time requirements and providing accurate estimates.
  • Ensuring the safety of the receipt location is crucial for successful deliveries. This technology takes into account the safety factor when determining the final delivery plan.

Benefits

  • Improved efficiency and cost-effectiveness in package delivery operations.
  • Accurate delivery time estimates for customers, leading to better customer satisfaction.
  • Enhanced safety and security in the delivery process.

Original Abstract Submitted

A server that determines a delivery route of a package includes: a communicator performing communication with terminals of a sender, a deliverer and a receiver; and a controller configured to determine a plurality of delivery plans corresponding to estimated locations of the receiver at respective time points, based on location information received from the terminals of the sender, the deliverer and the receiver, shipment readiness time information received from the sender's terminal, and information about the estimated locations received from the receiver's terminal, determine a final delivery plan among the plurality of delivery plans based on at least one of a delivery time required, a safety of a receipt location, or means of transport of the deliverer, and control the communicator to transmit the final delivery plan to the terminals of the sender, the deliverer and the receiver.
