LIGHT EMITTING DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17858741 titled 'LIGHT EMITTING DISPLAY DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a light emitting display device that includes various layers and components such as a substrate, insulating layers, a data line, a pixel electrode, and an emission layer.

  • The device consists of a substrate, which serves as the base for the display.
  • A first insulating layer is placed on top of the substrate to provide insulation.
  • A data line is then placed on the first insulating layer, which is responsible for transmitting a data voltage.
  • A second insulating layer is placed on top of the data line for further insulation.
  • A pixel electrode is then placed on the second insulating layer, which is an electrode responsible for controlling the emission of light.
  • Finally, an emission layer is placed on top of the pixel electrode, which emits light when activated.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • This light emitting display device can be used in various electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, televisions, and computer monitors.
  • It can also be used in wearable devices such as smartwatches and augmented reality glasses.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • The device addresses the need for a display that can emit light efficiently and accurately.
  • It solves the problem of controlling the emission of light in a display device.

Benefits of this technology:

  • The device provides a high-quality display with accurate light emission.
  • It offers improved energy efficiency by efficiently controlling the emission of light.
  • The device can be manufactured using existing display manufacturing processes, making it cost-effective.

Original Abstract Submitted

A light emitting display device is disclosed that includes a substrate, a first insulating layer, a data line, a second insulating layer, a pixel electrode, and an emission layer. The first insulating layer is disposed on the substrate. The data line is disposed on the first insulating layer and transmits a data voltage. The second insulating layer is disposed on the data line. The pixel electrode is disposed on the second insulating layer. The emission layer is disposed on the pixel electrode. The pixel electrode includes at least one first opening extending in parallel to the data line and overlapping the data line.
