APPLYING PREGENERATED VIRTUAL EXPERIENCES IN NEW LOCATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17848087 titled 'APPLYING PREGENERATED VIRTUAL EXPERIENCES IN NEW LOCATION

Simplified Explanation

The abstract of this patent application describes a system for providing virtual experiences by modifying images of real-world environments. The system selects a virtual experience representing a previously captured real-world environment and accesses an image of a new real-world environment. It then allows users to select a real-world object from the image and modifies the image to depict the previously captured real-world environment with the selected object.

  • The system selects a virtual experience representing a previously captured real-world environment.
  • It accesses an image of a new real-world environment depicting multiple real-world objects.
  • Users can select a specific real-world object from the image.
  • The system modifies the image to show the previously captured real-world environment with the selected object.

Potential Applications

  • Virtual tourism: Users can experience different real-world environments and interact with them virtually.
  • Interior design: Users can visualize how different objects would look in their own spaces.
  • Gaming: The system can be used to create immersive gaming experiences by integrating virtual objects into real-world environments.

Problems Solved

  • Lack of interaction with real-world environments in virtual experiences.
  • Difficulty in visualizing how objects would look in different real-world environments.
  • Limited options for integrating virtual and real-world elements in gaming.

Benefits

  • Enhanced virtual experiences by combining real-world environments with virtual elements.
  • Improved visualization of objects in different real-world environments.
  • Increased immersion and interactivity in gaming experiences.

Original Abstract Submitted

Aspects of the present disclosure involve a system for providing virtual experiences. The system performs operations including selecting, by a messaging application, a virtual experience that represents a previously captured real-world environment at a first location; accessing an image representing a new real-world environment at a second location, the image depicting a plurality of real-world objects; receiving input that selects a first real-world object from the plurality of real-world objects depicted in the image; and modifying the image, accessed at the second location, based on the virtual experience to depict the previously captured real-world environment with the first real-world object.
