DISPLAY DEVICE AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17841603 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a display module that is part of a modular display device. The display module has three I2C communication interfaces and a processor. The processor is programmed to receive x and y coordinate values from adjacent display modules, identify the coordinates of the current module, and transmit the coordinates to other adjacent display modules.
- The display module is part of a modular display device.
- It has three I2C communication interfaces and a processor.
- The processor receives x and y coordinate values from adjacent display modules.
- It identifies the coordinates of the current module based on the received values.
- The identified coordinates are then transmitted to other adjacent display modules.
Potential Applications
- Modular display devices for advertising or information display.
- Large-scale displays for events or exhibitions.
- Video walls for entertainment or gaming purposes.
Problems Solved
- Simplifies the coordination and communication between display modules.
- Allows for easy expansion or reconfiguration of the display device.
- Reduces the complexity of wiring and connections between modules.
Benefits
- Flexibility in creating different display configurations.
- Easy installation and setup of the modular display device.
- Efficient communication between display modules.
- Scalability for future expansion or modification.
Original Abstract Submitted
A display module configured to form a portion of a modular display device including a plurality of display modules includes first to third I2C communication interfaces and a processor. The processor is configured to: receive, via the first I2C communication interface from a first display module adjacent in a first direction, an x coordinate value of the first display module; receive, via the second I2C communication interface from a second display module adjacent in a second direction, a y coordinate value of the second display module; identify x and y coordinate values of the display module based on the received x and y coordinate values; transmit, via the third I2C communication interface, the identified x coordinate value to a third display module adjacent in a third direction; and transmit, via the third I2C communication interface, the identified y coordinate value to a fourth display module adjacent in a fourth direction.
