SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVED UL PERFORMANCE WITH SRS ANTENNA SWITCHING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17823693 titled 'SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVED UL PERFORMANCE WITH SRS ANTENNA SWITCHING

Simplified Explanation

- Systems and methods for adjusting antenna selections and switch timing in a wireless communication system to reduce transmission errors are provided. - A UE can monitor CRC error rates and RSRP differences between antennas to determine if an antenna port used for SRS can also be used for PUSCH transmission without significant impact on performance. - The UE can assign SRS resources adjacent to PUSCH resources to a default antenna for PUSCH transmission. - Antenna switch timing can be adjusted based on the monitoring of CRC error rates and RSRP differences.

Potential Applications

This technology can be applied in various wireless communication systems, such as 4G and 5G networks, to improve the efficiency and reliability of data transmission.

Problems Solved

- Reducing transmission errors caused by antenna switching between SRS and PUSCH transmissions. - Optimizing antenna selection and switch timing to enhance overall system performance.

Benefits

- Improved data transmission reliability. - Enhanced system efficiency. - Better utilization of antenna resources. - Reduced interference and signal degradation.

Original Abstract Submitted

Systems and methods for X in a wireless communication system are provided. A UE may adjust antenna selections and/or antenna switch timing to account for excessive transmission errors due to antenna switching between SRS and PUSCH transmissions. A UE may monitor CRC error rates, and if PUSCH resources next to SRS resources have higher CRC rates above a threshold, the UE may determine if an RSRP difference between the respective antennas is below a threshold. If the RSRP difference is below the threshold, the UE may determine that the antenna port used for SRS may also be used by PUSCH without substantially detrimentally affecting PUSCH. A UE may also determine which SRS resources occurs adjacent to a PUSCH resource most often and assign that SRS resource to a default antenna which may be used for PUSCH transmission. A UE may also adjust antenna switch timing.
