LDPC BASE GRAPH SELECTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17819528 titled 'LDPC BASE GRAPH SELECTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method where a first device selects a base graph from a set of base graphs based on various factors related to a second device, and then transmits LDPC coded data to the second device using the selected base graph.

  • Factors considered for selecting the base graph include decoding complexity, device category, capability, decoder mode, receiver complexity, receiver mode, power consumption, power mode, and indications from the second device.
  • The first device outputs LDPC coded transmission to the second device based on the selected base graph.

Original Abstract Submitted

A first device may select a base graph from a plurality of base graphs based on one or more of (a) a decoding complexity of a second device, (b) a device category of the second device, (c) a capability of the second device, (d) a decoder mode of the second device, (e) a receiver complexity of the second device, (f) a receiver mode of the second device, (g) a power consumption of the second device, (h) a power mode of the second device, or (i) an indication from the second device. The first device may output an LDPC coded transmission to the second device based on the selected base graph.
