L1/L2 MOBILITY AND CELL GROUP ACTIVATION/DEACTIVATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17815471 titled 'L1/L2 MOBILITY AND CELL GROUP ACTIVATION/DEACTIVATION

Simplified Explanation

The disclosed patent application describes a method of wireless communication at a User Equipment (UE). The method involves receiving a configuration for multiple cell groups, where each cell group consists of multiple cells. These cell groups can be activated or deactivated for mobility purposes. The method also includes receiving signaling indicating a Primary Cell Group (PCG) from one or more activated cell groups, where the PCG includes a cell that serves as a SpCell.

  • The method involves receiving a configuration for multiple cell groups, each consisting of multiple cells.
  • Cell groups can be activated or deactivated for mobility purposes.
  • Signaling is received indicating a Primary Cell Group (PCG) from activated cell groups.
  • The PCG includes a cell that serves as a SpCell.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Improved wireless communication at User Equipment (UE).
  • Enhanced mobility management in wireless networks.
  • Efficient utilization of multiple cell groups for improved network performance.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Simplifies the management and configuration of multiple cell groups.
  • Enables efficient activation and deactivation of cell groups for mobility purposes.
  • Facilitates seamless handover and mobility management in wireless networks.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved network performance and coverage.
  • Enhanced user experience with seamless handover between cell groups.
  • Simplified management and configuration of cell groups for network operators.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method of wireless communication at a UE is disclosed herein. The method includes receiving a L1 or L2 mobility cell configuration for a set of multiple cell groups comprising. Each cell group comprises multiple cells. Cell groups within the set of multiple cell groups are able to be activated or deactivated for L1 or L2 mobility. The method further includes receiving L1 or L2 signaling indicating a PCG from one or more activated cell groups, the PCG including a cell that serves as a SpCell.
