DISPLAY MODULE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17801742 titled 'DISPLAY MODULE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes an application and electronic device that aim to reduce display flicker. The application includes a display module with a display, a display driver circuit, and at least one driver group. The display has multiple rows of subpixels, and each driver group consists of multiple gating circuits.

  • The N gating circuit in the display module receives two initial voltages (Vinit1 and Vinit2) from the display driver circuit.
  • The N gating circuit outputs the second initial voltage (Vinit2) to the second electrode of a first reset transistor and the first electrode of a voltage modulation transistor.
  • The N gating circuit also outputs the first initial voltage (Vinit1) to the second electrode of the first reset transistor and the first electrode of the voltage modulation transistor.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Consumer electronics devices with displays, such as smartphones, tablets, and televisions.
  • Industrial displays used in control panels, monitoring systems, and other applications.
  • Automotive displays in vehicles for navigation, entertainment, and information systems.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Display flicker, which can cause discomfort and eye strain for users.
  • Inconsistent display performance due to voltage fluctuations.
  • Improper voltage distribution across subpixels leading to visual artifacts.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Reduced probability of display flicker, providing a more comfortable viewing experience.
  • Improved display performance with stable and consistent voltage distribution.
  • Enhanced visual quality with minimized visual artifacts.

Original Abstract Submitted

This application provide a display module and an electronic device, to reduce a probability of a display flicker. A display module includes a display, a display driver circuit, and at least one driver group; the display includes M rows of sub pixels; each driver group includes M gating circuits; an N gating circuit is configured to: receive a first initial voltage Vinit1 and a second initial voltage Vinit2 from the display driver circuit, output the second initial voltage Vinit2 to a second electrode of a first reset transistor and a first electrode of a voltage modulation transistor, and output the first initial voltage Vinit1 to the second electrode of the first reset transistor and the first electrode of the voltage modulation transistor.
