The method () includes: selecting () a number, N, of beams for data transmission to a terminal device, where N is an integer larger than one; transmitting () to the terminal device Channel State Information-Reference Signal, CSI-RS, having N ports using the N beams; receiving () from the terminal device a first measurement report containing a Rank Indicator, RI, obtained by the terminal device measuring the CSI-RS; and transmitting () data to the terminal device based on the RI using the N beams.
