ENHANCED SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL RESOURCE CONFIGURATIONS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17758523 titled 'ENHANCED SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL RESOURCE CONFIGURATIONS
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications. It focuses on the transmission of sounding reference signals (SRS) by a user equipment (UE). The UE receives information about a set of SRS parameters, which define the resources for transmitting SRSs in terms of frequency, time, or both. The SRS parameters include various details such as frequency allocation, overlap, number of symbols, comb value, cyclic shift, comb offset, frequency hopping, repetition, and symbol grouping. Based on these parameters, the UE determines the configuration for transmitting the SRSs and then transmits them accordingly. The SRS configuration can include settings for frequency hopping, repetition, or both.
- UE receives information about SRS parameters for transmitting SRSs
- SRS parameters define resources in terms of frequency, time, or both
- SRS parameters include details like frequency allocation, overlap, number of symbols, comb value, cyclic shift, comb offset, frequency hopping, repetition, and symbol grouping
- UE determines SRS configuration based on the received parameters
- UE transmits SRSs according to the determined configuration
- SRS configuration can include settings for frequency hopping, repetition, or both

Original Abstract Submitted
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a UE may receive an indication of a set of sounding reference signal (SRS) parameters corresponding to a set of SRS resources for transmitting SRSs, where the set of SRS resources may refer to frequency, or time, or both. In some examples, the SRS parameters may include, among other examples, a frequency allocation, a frequency overlap parameter, a number of allocated symbols, a comb value, a cyclic shift, a comb offset, a frequency hopping parameter, a repetition parameter, a symbol grouping parameter, or any combination thereof. The UE may determine an SRS configuration for the one or more SRSs based on the set of SRS parameters and transmit the one or more SRSs based on the configuration. In some examples, the SRS configuration includes a configuration for SRS frequency hopping, or SRS repetition, or both.
