USER EQUIPMENT CAPABILITY INDICATION FOR UPLINK TRANSMISSION CONFIGURATION INDICATION STATE AND SPATIAL RELATION INFORMATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17758237 titled 'USER EQUIPMENT CAPABILITY INDICATION FOR UPLINK TRANSMISSION CONFIGURATION INDICATION STATE AND SPATIAL RELATION INFORMATION

Simplified Explanation

The patent application relates to wireless communication and specifically focuses on the transmission of uplink information from a user equipment (UE) to a base station. The UE indicates its capability to support an uplink transmission configuration indication (TCI) state, and the base station identifies an uplink transmit beam based on this information. The UE then transmits uplink information using the identified transmit beam.

  • The patent application describes a method for efficient uplink transmission in wireless communication.
  • The UE informs the base station about its capability to support an uplink TCI state.
  • The base station uses this information to identify an uplink transmit beam.
  • The UE then transmits uplink information using the identified transmit beam.
  • This method improves the efficiency and reliability of uplink transmission in wireless communication systems.

Potential Applications

  • This technology can be applied in various wireless communication systems, such as cellular networks and Wi-Fi networks.
  • It can be used in devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops, and IoT devices that rely on wireless communication for data transmission.

Problems Solved

  • The technology solves the problem of inefficient uplink transmission in wireless communication systems.
  • It addresses the issue of limited resources and interference in the uplink transmission process.
  • It improves the overall performance and reliability of wireless communication systems.

Benefits

  • The technology improves the efficiency of uplink transmission, leading to faster and more reliable data transfer.
  • It optimizes the use of available resources and reduces interference, resulting in better network performance.
  • The improved uplink transmission enhances the user experience by providing seamless and uninterrupted connectivity.

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment In (UE) may transmit, and a base station may receive, information indicating that the UE has a capability to support an uplink transmission configuration indication (TCI) state. The base station may transmit, and the UE may receive, downlink signaling identifying an uplink transmit beam based at least in part on the information indicating that the UE has the capability to support the uplink TCI state. The UE may transmit, and the base station may receive, uplink information using the uplink transmit beam identified in the downlink signaling. Numerous other aspects are provided.
