ANTENNA STRUCTURE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE COMPRISING SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17754893 titled 'ANTENNA STRUCTURE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE COMPRISING SAME
Simplified Explanation
The present disclosure is about a communication system that supports higher data transmission rates than a 4G system, such as LTE. It specifically focuses on an antenna module in a wireless communication system.
- The antenna module consists of a printed circuit board (PCB), a radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC), and multiple antenna elements.
- The antenna elements are responsible for emitting a radio frequency (RF) signal.
- The antenna elements are located in a specific area on the first surface of the PCB.
- The RFIC is placed in a different area on the first surface of the PCB, separate from where the antenna elements are located.
Potential applications of this technology:
- 5G or pre-5G communication systems that require higher data transmission rates.
- Wireless communication systems that need improved performance and efficiency.
Problems solved by this technology:
- Provides a solution for supporting higher data transmission rates compared to 4G systems.
- Enables the integration of multiple antenna elements and RFIC on a single PCB, optimizing space utilization.
Benefits of this technology:
- Higher data transmission rates, allowing for faster and more efficient communication.
- Compact design with integrated antenna elements and RFIC, reducing the overall size of the communication system.
- Improved performance and efficiency in wireless communication systems.
Original Abstract Submitted
The present disclosure relates to a 5generation (5G) or pre-5G communication system for supporting higher data transmission rates than a 4generation (4G) communication system such as long-term evolution (LTE). An antenna module in a wireless communication system includes: a printed circuit board (PCB); a radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC); and a plurality of antenna elements for emitting a radio frequency (RF) signal, wherein the plurality of antenna elements may be disposed in a first area of a first surface of the PCB, and the RFIC may be disposed in a second area, different from the first area, of the first surface of the PCB.
