LIGHT EMITTING SUBSTRATE, DISPLAY APPARATUS, AND METHOD OF DRIVING LIGHT EMITTING SUBSTRATE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17631594 titled 'LIGHT EMITTING SUBSTRATE, DISPLAY APPARATUS, AND METHOD OF DRIVING LIGHT EMITTING SUBSTRATE

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a light emitting substrate that includes a light emitting controlling unit. The controlling unit consists of multiple light emitting elements arranged in rows and columns and grouped into sub-units. Each sub-unit has a specific arrangement of voltage signal lines.

  • The light emitting substrate has a controlling unit with multiple light emitting elements arranged in rows and columns.
  • The elements are grouped into sub-units, with a specific arrangement of voltage signal lines.
  • The sub-units are arranged in rows and columns, forming a grid-like structure.
  • Each sub-unit has a certain number of columns of light emitting elements.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Display panels: The light emitting substrate can be used in the manufacturing of display panels for various electronic devices.
  • Lighting systems: The technology can be applied in the development of efficient and customizable lighting systems.
  • Signage and advertising: The light emitting substrate can be used to create vibrant and eye-catching signage and advertising displays.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient control: The arrangement of the light emitting elements and voltage signal lines allows for precise control and management of the emitted light.
  • Customization: The grid-like structure and sub-unit arrangement enable customization of the light emitting substrate for different applications.
  • Scalability: The technology can be easily scaled up or down to accommodate different sizes and resolutions.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved visual quality: The precise control of the light emitting elements enhances the visual quality of displays and lighting systems.
  • Energy efficiency: The technology allows for efficient use of energy, resulting in reduced power consumption.
  • Versatility: The customizable nature of the light emitting substrate makes it suitable for a wide range of applications.

Original Abstract Submitted

A light emitting substrate is provided. The light emitting substrate includes at least one light emitting controlling unit. The at least one light emitting controlling unit includes a plurality of light emitting elements arranged in M rows and N columns and grouped into (PxQ) number of sub-units, M being an integer equal to or greater than one, N being an integer equal to or greater than one, P being an integer equal to or greater than one, and Q being an integer equal to or greater than one; P groups of first voltage signal lines; and Q groups of second voltage signal lines. The (PxQ) number of sub-units are arranged in P rows and Q columns. A respective sub-unit in a p-th row and a q-th column includes K columns of light emitting elements, K being an integer equal to or greater than one.
