PIXEL CIRCUIT AND DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF DRIVING SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17622785 titled 'PIXEL CIRCUIT AND DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF DRIVING SAME

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a pixel circuit, a display device, and a method of driving the same. The pixel circuit consists of a light emitting element, a first transistor, and a second transistor. The second transistor is turned off during a display scan period and turned on during a self-scan period to reset the first transistor.

  • The pixel circuit includes a light emitting element, a first transistor, and a second transistor.
  • The second transistor is turned off during a display scan period and turned on during a self-scan period.
  • The second transistor is used to reset the first transistor during the self-scan period.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Display devices such as televisions, computer monitors, and mobile phone screens.
  • Electronic signage and billboards.
  • Virtual reality and augmented reality headsets.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient control of pixel circuits in display devices.
  • Improved image quality and resolution.
  • Reduction of power consumption.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Enhanced display performance with better control over pixel elements.
  • Lower power consumption leading to longer battery life in portable devices.
  • Improved image quality and resolution for a more immersive viewing experience.

Original Abstract Submitted

A pixel circuit, a display device, and a method of driving the same are provided. The pixel circuit includes a light emitting element, a first transistor, and a second transistor. In response to a time voltage signal provided by a time voltage line RST, the second transistor T is turned off during a display scan period of one frame period and is turned on during a self scan period of one frame period to reset the first transistor Ti during the self scan period of one frame period.
