TOUCH PANEL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR, AND TOUCH DISPLAY APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17620579 titled 'TOUCH PANEL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR, AND TOUCH DISPLAY APPARATUS

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a touch panel that includes a carrier panel with both bendable and non-bendable regions. The panel has touch electrodes and touch lines, with the touch electrodes being electrically connected to the touch lines. The touch lines in the bendable region are made of a single-layer metal, while the touch lines in the non-bendable region are made of a double-layer metal.

  • The touch panel includes a carrier panel with bendable and non-bendable regions.
  • Touch electrodes and touch lines are placed on the carrier panel.
  • The touch electrodes are connected to the touch lines.
  • The touch lines in the bendable region are made of a single-layer metal.
  • The touch lines in the non-bendable region are made of a double-layer metal.

Potential Applications

  • This touch panel technology can be used in various electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
  • It can also be applied in automotive displays, industrial control panels, and other touch-sensitive devices.

Problems Solved

  • The use of a bendable region in the touch panel allows for flexibility and durability, making it suitable for curved or flexible displays.
  • The combination of single-layer and double-layer metal lines provides a balance between flexibility and conductivity, ensuring reliable touch functionality.

Benefits

  • The touch panel's bendable region allows for more design possibilities and improved user experience.
  • The use of single-layer and double-layer metal lines ensures both flexibility and conductivity, enhancing the overall performance and reliability of the touch panel.
  • This technology enables the production of touch panels that can withstand bending and twisting without compromising touch sensitivity.

Original Abstract Submitted

A touch panel includes a carrier panel, a plurality of touch electrodes and a plurality of touch lines. The carrier panel has a bendable region and a non-bendable region. The plurality of touch electrodes and the plurality of touch lines are disposed on the carrier panel, and a touch electrode of the plurality of touch electrodes is electrically connected to one or more touch lines. A portion of at least one touch line located in the bendable region is a single-layer metal line, and at least a part of a portion of the at least one touch line located in the non-bendable region is a double-layer metal line.
