DATA SCHEDULING COLLISION AVOIDANCE AND PRIORITY BASED RESOURCE SELECTION WITH DECOUPLED SIDELINK CONTROL AND DATA - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17545430 titled 'DATA SCHEDULING COLLISION AVOIDANCE AND PRIORITY BASED RESOURCE SELECTION WITH DECOUPLED SIDELINK CONTROL AND DATA

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications. It specifically focuses on addressing scheduling conflicts between data transmissions in wireless devices.

  • The method involves a first wireless device (e.g., user equipment) receiving a first sidelink control information (SCI) message from a second wireless device.
  • The first SCI message indicates a scheduling conflict between a data transmission of the second wireless device and a data transmission of the first wireless device.
  • The first wireless device then transmits a second SCI message based on the scheduling conflict.
  • The second SCI message specifies a data resource allocation for the second data transmission that helps mitigate the scheduling conflict.

Potential Applications

  • Wireless communication systems
  • User equipment (UE) devices
  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices
  • Mobile networks

Problems Solved

  • Addressing scheduling conflicts between data transmissions in wireless devices
  • Optimizing data resource allocation to mitigate scheduling conflicts

Benefits

  • Improved efficiency and reliability of wireless communications
  • Minimized interference and improved data transmission performance
  • Enhanced coordination between wireless devices to avoid conflicts

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An example method for wireless communication at a first wireless device, such as a user equipment (UE) may include receiving, at the first wireless device, a first sidelink control information (SCI) message from a second wireless device, wherein the first SCI message indicates a scheduling conflict between a first data transmission of the second wireless device and a second data transmission of the first wireless device. The method may also include transmitting a second SCI message from the first wireless device based at least in part on the scheduling conflict between the first data transmission and the second data transmission, wherein the second SCI message indicates a data resource allocation for the second data transmission that mitigates the scheduling conflict.
