PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) MANAGEMENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17540410 titled 'PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) MANAGEMENT

Simplified Explanation

The present disclosure relates to managing personal protective equipment (PPE). The system receives data on the use time limits of different PPE articles. It monitors the use of a PPE article using sensors and determines if the PPE usage rule is satisfied based on the monitoring. If the rule is satisfied, a recommendation action is issued.

  • The system manages personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
  • It receives data on the use time limits of different PPE articles.
  • It monitors the use of a PPE article using sensors.
  • It determines if the PPE usage rule is satisfied based on the monitoring.
  • It issues a recommendation action if the rule is satisfied.

Potential Applications

This technology can be applied in various industries and settings where personal protective equipment is required, such as:

  • Healthcare facilities
  • Construction sites
  • Manufacturing plants
  • Laboratories
  • Hazardous material handling

Problems Solved

This technology addresses the following problems related to PPE management:

  • Ensuring compliance with PPE usage rules and guidelines
  • Preventing overuse or underuse of PPE
  • Improving safety and reducing the risk of accidents or exposure to hazards
  • Streamlining PPE inventory management and replacement

Benefits

The use of this technology offers several benefits:

  • Enhanced safety for individuals using PPE
  • Improved compliance with PPE usage rules and regulations
  • Efficient management of PPE inventory and replacement
  • Reduction in the risk of accidents or exposure to hazards
  • Cost savings by optimizing PPE usage and replacement.

Original Abstract Submitted

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to personal protective equipment (PPE) management. A set of personal protective equipment (PPE) data describing use time limits of respective PPE articles of a set of PPE articles can be received. Use of a PPE article of the set of PPE articles can be monitored using one or more sensors. A determination can be made whether a PPE usage rule of the PPE article is satisfied based on the monitoring, where the PPE usage rule is based on at least a use time limit of the PPE article. A PPE recommendation action can be issued in response to determining that the PPE usage rule of the PPE article is satisfied.
