COMPLIANCE ADAPTION PLANS AND SOFTWARE COMPONENT MATCHMAKING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17533188 titled 'COMPLIANCE ADAPTION PLANS AND SOFTWARE COMPONENT MATCHMAKING

Simplified Explanation

The abstract of this patent application describes a method for replacing a code segment in a computer system's source code with a candidate code segment that aligns with a written data privacy requirement. The process involves correlating the context of the privacy requirement with the existing code, selecting a suitable replacement code segment, integrating it into the source code, and transmitting a stimulation signal to the computer system to test the functionality of the integrated code segment.

  • Correlating a written data privacy requirement with a code segment in a computer system's source code
  • Receiving a selection of a candidate code segment to replace the existing code segment
  • Determining if the selected candidate code segment has successfully replaced the original code segment
  • Integrating the selected candidate code segment into the source code
  • Transmitting a stimulation signal to the computer system to test the functionality of the integrated code segment

Potential Applications

  • Software development and maintenance
  • Data privacy compliance and enforcement
  • Testing and validation of code changes

Problems Solved

  • Ensuring compliance with data privacy requirements in computer systems
  • Efficiently replacing code segments to align with privacy regulations
  • Testing the functionality of integrated code segments

Benefits

  • Streamlines the process of replacing code segments to meet data privacy requirements
  • Reduces the risk of non-compliance with privacy regulations
  • Facilitates efficient testing and validation of code changes

Original Abstract Submitted

Aspects of the invention include correlating a context of a written data privacy requirement with a first code segment of a source code of a target computer system. A selection of a first candidate code segment is received to replace the first code segment. The selected first candidate code segment is determined to have replaced the first code segment and is integrated into the source code. A stimulation signal is transmitted to the target computer system, wherein the stimulation signal is directed toward the first candidate code segment integrated into the source code.
