TECHNIQUES FOR INTER-BASE STATION MESSAGING FOR INTER-BASE STATION CROSS-LINK INTERFERENCE MITIGATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17525579 titled 'TECHNIQUES FOR INTER-BASE STATION MESSAGING FOR INTER-BASE STATION CROSS-LINK INTERFERENCE MITIGATION

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications. Specifically, it introduces a first relay user equipment (UE) that receives a message indicating cross-link interference (CLI) experienced by a first base station due to signals transmitted by a second base station. The first relay UE then generates a second message including the CLI indication and transmits it, either directly to the second base station or through an additional relay UE.

  • The patent application focuses on improving wireless communications by addressing cross-link interference (CLI) between base stations.
  • It introduces a first relay user equipment (UE) that receives a message indicating CLI experienced by a first base station.
  • The first relay UE generates a second message including the CLI indication.
  • The second message is then transmitted, either directly to the second base station or through an additional relay UE.

Potential Applications

  • This technology can be applied in various wireless communication systems, such as cellular networks, to improve overall network performance.
  • It can help mitigate cross-link interference issues between base stations, leading to better signal quality and reduced interference.

Problems Solved

  • Cross-link interference (CLI) between base stations can degrade the performance of wireless communication systems.
  • This technology addresses the problem by providing a mechanism for detecting and indicating CLI, allowing for appropriate measures to be taken to mitigate the interference.

Benefits

  • Improved signal quality: By addressing cross-link interference, this technology can enhance the overall signal quality in wireless communication systems.
  • Reduced interference: By detecting and indicating CLI, the system can take necessary actions to minimize interference, resulting in improved network performance.
  • Enhanced reliability: By transmitting CLI indications, the system can facilitate efficient communication between base stations, leading to a more reliable wireless network.

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first relay user equipment (UE) may be configured to receive a first message including a cross-link interference (CLI) indication associated with CLI experienced by a first base station which is associated with signals transmitted by a second base station. The first relay UE may generate, in response to the first message, a second message including the CLI indication, and may transmitting the second message including the CLI indication. In some cases, the first relay UE may transmit the second message directly to the second base station. In additional or alternative cases, the first relay UE may transmit the second message to an additional relay UE for relay to the second base station.
