AIDING DATA ENTRY FIELD - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17490297 titled 'AIDING DATA ENTRY FIELD
Simplified Explanation
The patent application proposes a method for automatically populating data entry fields in a target application with relevant data from source applications. This eliminates the need for users to manually transfer or remember the data, reducing time consumption and frustration while minimizing copying errors.
- The method identifies the context of a data entry field in a target application.
- It analyzes a dataset from source applications based on the identified context.
- The relevant data is automatically populated into the data entry field.
- Users no longer need to manually transfer or memorize data.
- Time consumed and frustration for users are decreased.
- The rate of copying errors is reduced.
Potential Applications
- Data entry automation in various industries such as healthcare, finance, and customer service.
- Streamlining the process of transferring data between different software applications.
- Enhancing productivity and efficiency in data-intensive tasks.
Problems Solved
- Eliminates the need for users to manually transfer or remember data.
- Reduces time consumption and frustration associated with data entry.
- Minimizes the rate of copying errors, improving data accuracy.
Benefits
- Saves time and effort for users by automating the data entry process.
- Improves data accuracy by reducing the likelihood of copying errors.
- Increases productivity and efficiency in data-related tasks.
- Enhances user experience by reducing frustration and cognitive load.
Original Abstract Submitted
Concepts for populating a data entry field with data are proposed. Specifically, by identifying a context of a data entry field of a target application and analyzing a dataset from source applications based on the identified context, the data entry field may be automatically populated with relevant data. In this way, data from source applications may be transferred to data entry fields of a target application without the need for a user to memorize (or otherwise manually transfer) the data. Accordingly, this decreases time consumed and frustration of the user, while reducing the rate of copying errors.
