INTEGRATED ACCESS AND BACKHAUL DATA COLLECTION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17443270 titled 'INTEGRATED ACCESS AND BACKHAUL DATA COLLECTION

Simplified Explanation

The present disclosure is about wireless communication and specifically focuses on an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network. The apparatus of a central or management entity of the IAB network receives a report indicating a failure or a quality of service (QoS) issue with a communication link associated with an IAB node. Based on this report, the apparatus can modify the topography or routing within the IAB network to address the failure or QoS issue. The apparatus also verifies the QoS associated with the IAB network when the report indicates a QoS problem.

  • An apparatus of a central or management entity of an IAB network receives a report indicating a failure or QoS issue with a communication link associated with an IAB node.
  • The apparatus modifies the topography or routing within the IAB network in response to the report indicating a failure associated with the communication link.
  • The apparatus verifies the QoS associated with the IAB network when the report indicates a QoS issue with the communication link.

Potential Applications

  • Wireless communication networks
  • Integrated access and backhaul (IAB) networks

Problems Solved

  • Failure or quality of service (QoS) issues in communication links within an IAB network
  • Inefficient topography or routing within an IAB network

Benefits

  • Improved reliability and performance of communication links in an IAB network
  • Efficient management and optimization of the IAB network

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an apparatus of a central or management entity of an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network may receive a report indicating one or more of a failure associated with a communication link associated with an IAB node included in the IAB network or a quality of service (QoS) associated with the communication link. The apparatus may modify a topography of the IAB network or routing within the IAB network when the report indicates the failure associated with the communication link. The apparatus may verify a QoS associated with the IAB network when the report indicates the QoS associated with the communication link. Numerous other aspects are described.
