SCHEMES TO AVOID PERIODIC RESOURCE COLLISIONS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17442359 titled 'SCHEMES TO AVOID PERIODIC RESOURCE COLLISIONS

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a system for autonomous selection in vehicle-to-anything (V2X) communication. It involves scheduling resources for discontinuous periodic transmission and monitoring for collisions with competing users.

  • The system schedules resources for discontinuous periodic transmission in a V2X communication environment.
  • It monitors for collisions between the scheduled resources of the evaluating user equipment (UE) and the scheduled resources of a competing UE.
  • When a collision is detected, the system selectively performs a corrective action to avoid interference.

Potential Applications

  • V2X communication systems in vehicles, allowing for autonomous selection of resources to optimize communication performance.
  • Improving the reliability and efficiency of V2X communication in congested environments with multiple competing users.

Problems Solved

  • Collision detection and avoidance in V2X communication systems, reducing interference and improving overall system performance.
  • Autonomous resource scheduling to optimize communication performance and avoid collisions.

Benefits

  • Improved reliability and efficiency of V2X communication in congested environments.
  • Autonomous selection and scheduling of resources reduce the need for manual intervention and improve system performance.
  • Collision detection and corrective actions help avoid interference and maintain communication quality.

Original Abstract Submitted

Systems, methods and circuitries are provided for performing UE autonomous selection in a vehicle-to-anything (V2X) communication environment, that includes one or more processors configured to schedule resources for discontinuous periodic transmission having a scheduled discontinuous time period in which scheduled resources are not transmitted. The one or more processors are further configured to perform a monitoring operation at the scheduled discontinuous time period, the monitoring operation comprising a monitoring for a collision of scheduled resources of the evaluating UE with scheduled resources of a competing UE, and selectively perform a corrective action when a collision of scheduled resources of the evaluating UE with scheduled resources of the competing UE is detected during the monitoring operation.
