METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR SELF-DETECTION OF COLLISIONS BY A USER EQUIPMENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17441752 titled 'METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR SELF-DETECTION OF COLLISIONS BY A USER EQUIPMENT

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a system for evaluating user equipment (UE) in a communication network. Here is a simplified explanation of the abstract:

  • The system includes memory and one or more processors that are connected to the memory.
  • The processors are programmed to schedule periodic resources and set feedback-based collision detection parameters.
  • The system performs periodic transmissions to one or more receiving UEs.
  • The processors collect negative acknowledgement (NACK) statistics for the periodic transmission based on the configured collision detection parameters.
  • Corrective actions can be selectively performed based on the collected NACK statistics and the collision detection parameters.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Wireless communication networks
  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices
  • Mobile networks

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient scheduling of resources in a communication network
  • Collision detection and avoidance in wireless communication
  • Improving the reliability and performance of periodic transmissions

Benefits of this technology:

  • Enhanced reliability and performance of communication networks
  • Efficient utilization of network resources
  • Improved user experience with reduced packet loss and latency.

Original Abstract Submitted

An evaluating user equipment (UE) includes memory and one or more processors communicatively coupled to the memory. The one or more processor are configured to schedule periodic resources with one or more configured feedback-based collision detection parameters, and perform a periodic transmission to one or more receiving UEs. The one or more processors are also configured to collect negative acknowledgement (NACK) statistics for the periodic transmission according to the configured feedback-based collision detection parameters, and selectively perform corrective action based on the collected NACK statistics and at least one of the configured feedback-based collision detection parameters.
