ELECTRONIC APPARATUS, SYSTEM COMPRISING SOUND I/O DEVICE AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17425169 titled 'ELECTRONIC APPARATUS, SYSTEM COMPRISING SOUND I/O DEVICE AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF
Simplified Explanation
An electronic apparatus is described in this patent application. The apparatus includes a communication interface and a processor. Here are the key points:
- The apparatus has a communication interface and a processor.
- The communication interface is used to output an audio content signal to a sound input/output device, which includes a speaker and a microphone.
- The processor controls the communication interface to output the audio content signal.
- The microphone collects sound signals from the sound input/output device and sends them back to the apparatus via the communication interface.
- The processor analyzes the sound signal received from the microphone to identify whether it contains a scene noise signal or an event noise signal.
- Scene noise signal refers to regular background noise generated in the location where the sound input/output device is located.
- Event noise signal refers to irregular noise generated in the same location.
- If the sound signal contains a scene noise signal, the processor performs noise cancelling to reduce the noise.
- If the sound signal contains an event noise signal, the processor controls the output of the audio content signal.
Potential applications of this technology:
- This technology can be used in smartphones, tablets, or other electronic devices with sound input/output capabilities.
- It can be applied in video conferencing systems to improve audio quality by reducing background noise.
- It can be used in voice-controlled devices to enhance voice recognition accuracy by filtering out unwanted noise.
Problems solved by this technology:
- Background noise can often interfere with audio communication or voice recognition systems, making it difficult to hear or understand the desired sound.
- This technology solves the problem of distinguishing between regular background noise and irregular noise, allowing for targeted noise cancellation or control.
Benefits of this technology:
- Improved audio quality in communication devices, resulting in clearer and more understandable sound.
- Enhanced voice recognition accuracy in voice-controlled devices, leading to better user experience.
- Reduction of unwanted noise, providing a more pleasant and focused audio environment.
Original Abstract Submitted
An electronic apparatus is provided. The electronic apparatus may include a communication interface; and a processor configured to: control the communication interface to output an audio content signal to a sound input/output device including a speaker and a microphone; based on receiving a sound signal collected via the microphone from the sound input/output device via the communication interface, identify whether the sound signal includes a scene noise signal corresponding to a regular noise generated in a location in which the sound input/output device is located or an event noise signal corresponding to an irregular noise generated in the location in which the sound input/output device is located; based on identifying that the sound signal includes the scene noise signal, perform noise cancelling for the sound signal; and based on identifying that the sound signal includes the event noise signal, control the output of the audio content signal
