REPORTING TECHNIQUES FOR MOVABLE RELAY NODES - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17388449 titled 'REPORTING TECHNIQUES FOR MOVABLE RELAY NODES
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications. It introduces a movable relay node that can change locations and reconfigure relay devices based on received messages. This allows for improved communication between a control node and a second node.
- A control node receives a capability message from a movable relay node, indicating its operational parameters.
- The control node determines the location of the movable relay node based on the capability message.
- The control node transmits a location message to the movable relay node, indicating the determined location.
- The movable relay node can change locations or reconfigure its relay devices based on the location message.
- The control node can then use the movable relay node to relay messages between itself and a second node, increasing the chances of successful communication.
Potential Applications
This technology has potential applications in various fields, including:
- Wireless communication networks
- Internet of Things (IoT) systems
- Mobile and autonomous devices
- Smart cities and infrastructure
- Emergency response and disaster management
Problems Solved
The technology addresses several problems in wireless communications, such as:
- Limited coverage and range of communication nodes
- Signal interference and degradation
- Inefficient relay node placement
- Lack of adaptability and flexibility in relay nodes
Benefits
The use of movable relay nodes with reconfigurable relay devices offers several benefits, including:
- Improved communication range and coverage
- Enhanced signal quality and reliability
- Dynamic and adaptable relay node placement
- Increased flexibility in network design and optimization
- Higher chances of successful communication between nodes
Original Abstract Submitted
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a control node may receive, from a movable relay node, a capability message indicating a set of operational parameters for the movable relay node. The control node may determine a location for the movable relay node based on the capability message and may transmit, to the movable relay node, a location message indicating the determined location. The movable relay node may change locations or reconfigure one or more relay devices (e.g., reconfigurable intelligent surfaces) of the movable relay node based on the location message. Accordingly, the control node may use the movable relay node to relay messages between the control node and a second node, which may increase the likelihood of successful communications between the control node and the second node.
