CONTROL RESOURCE SET CONFIGURATION FOR REDUCED BANDWIDTH USER EQUIPMENTS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17385790 titled 'CONTROL RESOURCE SET CONFIGURATION FOR REDUCED BANDWIDTH USER EQUIPMENTS

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication. It focuses on a user equipment (UE) receiving system information messages and identifying parameters for a control resource set (CORESET) from a base station. The UE then receives a downlink control information (DCI) message in the CORESET, which schedules a second system information message.

  • A user equipment (UE) receives a system information message from a base station.
  • The system information message includes an indication of a resource configuration for a control resource set (CORESET).
  • The CORESET includes a common search space for a downlink control information (DCI) message.
  • The DCI message schedules a second system information message.
  • The UE identifies a set of parameters for the CORESET based on the indication and the type of UE.
  • The set of parameters may differ for different types of UEs.
  • The UE receives the DCI message in the CORESET according to the identified set of parameters.

Potential Applications

  • Wireless communication systems and networks
  • Mobile devices and user equipment
  • Base stations and network infrastructure

Problems Solved

  • Efficient scheduling of system information messages in wireless communication
  • Differentiating parameters for different types of user equipment
  • Optimizing resource configuration for control resource sets

Benefits

  • Improved wireless communication efficiency
  • Enhanced system information message scheduling
  • Customized parameter identification for different types of UEs
  • Optimal resource allocation for control resource sets

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first system information message including an indication of a resource configuration for a control resource set (CORESET) from a base station. The CORESET may include a common search space for a downlink control information (DCI) message that schedules a second system information message. The UE may identify a set of parameters from multiple sets of parameters for the CORESET based on the indication received in the first system information message and the UE being a first type of UE. The set of parameters may be different from a second set of parameters for the CORESET associated with a second type of UE different from the first type of UE. The UE may receive, in the CORESET according to the identified set of parameters, the DCI message scheduling the second system information message.
