FINGERPRINT IDENTIFICATION STRUCTURE AND DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17050193 titled 'FINGERPRINT IDENTIFICATION STRUCTURE AND DISPLAY DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The present disclosure describes a fingerprint identification structure and a display device. The structure includes an acoustic wave emitter, a focus acoustic lens, and a sound wave receiver. The emitter emits acoustic waves towards the lens, which then pass through the lens and the receiver. The receiver detects the intensity distribution of the acoustic waves after they pass through the lens, reach the surface of the finger, and are reflected back by the finger's surface. This structure improves design flexibility for fingerprint recognition.

  • The structure includes an acoustic wave emitter, a focus acoustic lens, and a sound wave receiver.
  • The emitter is positioned at the focal position of the lens and emits acoustic waves towards the lens.
  • The lens focuses the acoustic waves and directs them towards the receiver.
  • The receiver detects the intensity distribution of the acoustic waves after they pass through the lens, reach the finger's surface, and are reflected back.
  • This structure allows for improved design flexibility in fingerprint recognition.

Potential Applications

This technology has potential applications in various fields, including:

  • Biometric security systems
  • Mobile devices (smartphones, tablets) with fingerprint recognition
  • Access control systems (e.g., for buildings, vehicles)
  • Identity verification in financial transactions

Problems Solved

This technology solves several problems in fingerprint recognition, such as:

  • Design flexibility: The structure allows for more flexibility in the design of fingerprint recognition systems.
  • Accuracy: By detecting the intensity distribution of the acoustic waves, the system can accurately capture and analyze fingerprint details.
  • Efficiency: The structure enables efficient fingerprint recognition by focusing the acoustic waves and detecting their reflections.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include:

  • Improved design flexibility: The structure provides more options for integrating fingerprint recognition into various devices and systems.
  • Accurate fingerprint recognition: By detecting the intensity distribution of the acoustic waves, the system can capture detailed fingerprint information.
  • Efficient and reliable: The structure allows for efficient fingerprint recognition by focusing the acoustic waves and detecting their reflections, leading to reliable identification.

Original Abstract Submitted

The present disclosure provides a fingerprint identification structure and a display device. The fingerprint identification structure includes an acoustic wave emitter, a focus acoustic lens, and a sound wave receiver. The acoustic lens are between the acoustic wave emitter and the sound wave receiver, the acoustic wave emitter is at a focal position of the acoustic lens and configured to emit acoustic wave toward the acoustic lens, the acoustic wave receiver is configured to detect the intensity distribution of the acoustic wave emitted by the acoustic wave emitter after the acoustic wave sequentially passes through the acoustic lens and the acoustic wave receiver, reaches the surface of the finger and is reflected back by the surface of the finger. The fingerprint recognition structure improves design flexibility.
