Method for Running Startup Program of Electronic Device, and Electronic Device - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240176887 titled 'Method for Running Startup Program of Electronic Device, and Electronic Device

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method for running a boot program of an electronic device, which includes two BIOSs - a primary BIOS and a secondary BIOS. The primary BIOS is stored in a first storage, while some program blocks of the secondary BIOS are stored in a second storage. When the primary BIOS is damaged, the electronic device can load program blocks from the secondary BIOS and run them to power on the device normally.

  • Explanation of the patent/innovation:

- Method for running a boot program with two BIOSs - Primary BIOS stored in first storage, secondary BIOS program blocks stored in second storage - Ability to switch to secondary BIOS program blocks when primary BIOS is damaged

Potential Applications

The technology can be applied in various electronic devices such as computers, smartphones, and tablets to ensure a backup boot program is available in case of primary BIOS failure.

Problems Solved

- Reduces the risk of device failure due to damaged primary BIOS - Provides a reliable backup system for booting up electronic devices

Benefits

- Increased reliability and uptime for electronic devices - Quick recovery from primary BIOS failures - Enhanced user experience with seamless device power-on process

Potential Commercial Applications

"Backup BIOS Technology for Electronic Devices: Ensuring Reliable Boot Programs"

Possible Prior Art

One example of prior art in this field is the use of dual BIOS systems in computer motherboards to provide redundancy and backup in case of BIOS corruption or failure.

What is the impact of this technology on device reliability?

The technology significantly improves device reliability by providing a backup boot program that can be used in case of primary BIOS failure. This ensures that electronic devices can still be powered on and used even if the primary BIOS is damaged.

How does this innovation contribute to user experience?

This innovation enhances user experience by minimizing downtime and disruptions caused by BIOS failures. Users can have peace of mind knowing that their electronic devices have a reliable backup system in place to ensure smooth operation.

Original Abstract Submitted

embodiments of this application provide a method for running a boot program of an electronic device, and an electronic device. in the method, the boot program in embodiments of this application may include two bioss, where one is a primary bios, and the other is a secondary bios. the electronic device stores the entire primary bios in a first storage, and stores some program blocks in the secondary bios in a second storage. when the primary bios is damaged, the electronic device may determine storage locations of program blocks in the secondary bios in the second storage, load these program blocks into a memory of the electronic device, and then run the program blocks in the secondary bios, so that the electronic device is powered on normally.
