WIRELESS COMMUNICATION APPARATUS, COMMUNICATION CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240179765 titled 'WIRELESS COMMUNICATION APPARATUS, COMMUNICATION CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
Simplified Explanation
The wireless communication apparatus described in the patent application is capable of switching between two operation modes depending on the type of application running on the device. This allows for efficient communication with another wireless communication apparatus through multiple wireless links.
- Communication unit switches operation mode based on application type:
- The communication unit can switch between a first operation mode and a second operation mode. - In the first operation mode, the device can transmit and receive packets simultaneously through different wireless links. - In the second operation mode, the device can only transmit packets through one link without receiving through another link.
- Control unit manages operation mode based on application:
- The control unit determines the type of application running on the device. - Based on the application type, the control unit switches between the first and second operation modes for efficient communication.
Potential Applications
The technology described in the patent application could be applied in: - Wireless communication devices - Internet of Things (IoT) devices - Mobile devices
Problems Solved
The technology addresses the following issues: - Efficient utilization of multiple wireless links - Seamless communication in different operation modes - Optimized data transmission based on application requirements
Benefits
The benefits of this technology include: - Improved communication performance - Enhanced data transmission efficiency - Better utilization of wireless resources
Potential Commercial Applications
Potential commercial applications of this technology include: - Smart home devices - Industrial IoT systems - Telecommunication networks
Possible Prior Art
One possible prior art for this technology could be the use of adaptive communication modes based on application requirements in wireless communication devices.
Unanswered Questions
1. How does the control unit determine the type of application running on the device? 2. Are there any limitations to switching between operation modes based on application type?
Original Abstract Submitted
a wireless communication apparatus comprises: a communication unit configured to, in a case where a plurality of wireless links are established with another wireless communication apparatus, perform communication while switching an operation mode between a first operation mode in which while a packet is being transmitted to the other wireless communication apparatus via a first link of the plurality of wireless links, a packet can be received from the other wireless communication apparatus via a second link different from the first link, and a second operation mode in which while the packet is being transmitted in the first link, the packet is not received via the second link; and a control unit configured to control switching of the operation mode in accordance with a type of an application started up in the wireless communication apparatus.
