Early Data Communication on Bandwidth Parts - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18559318 titled 'Early Data Communication on Bandwidth Parts
Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a method for managing small data transmission in a User Equipment (UE) by a Central Unit (CU) of a distributed base station. The CU communicates with the UE via a Distributed Unit (DU) using different Bandwidth Parts (BWPs) depending on the UE's state in the protocol.
- The CU communicates with the UE in a connected state using a first BWP.
- The DU configures the UE to communicate with it on a second BWP in a non-connected state.
- The DU performs small data transmission with the UE in the non-connected state.
Key Features and Innovation:
- Utilization of different BWPs for communication based on the UE's protocol state.
- Efficient management of small data transmission in UE.
- Seamless transition between connected and non-connected states for data transmission.
Potential Applications: This technology can be applied in telecommunications, specifically in managing data transmission in UE devices within a distributed base station setup.
Problems Solved:
- Efficient management of small data transmission in UE.
- Seamless communication transition between connected and non-connected states.
- Optimization of radio resources for improved data transmission.
Benefits:
- Enhanced data transmission efficiency.
- Improved utilization of radio resources.
- Seamless communication experience for UE devices.
Commercial Applications: This technology can be utilized in 5G networks, IoT devices, and other wireless communication systems to optimize data transmission and resource allocation.
Prior Art: Further research can be conducted in the field of distributed base stations and small data transmission management to explore existing technologies and innovations.
Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on advancements in 5G network technologies, IoT communication protocols, and radio resource management for distributed base stations.
Questions about Small Data Transmission Management in UE: 1. How does this technology improve data transmission efficiency in UE devices? 2. What are the potential implications of using different BWPs for communication in a distributed base station setup?
Original Abstract Submitted
To manage small data transmission (SDT) in a UE, a central unit (CU) of a distributed base station that also includes a distributed unit (DU) communicates, via a DU, with a UE operating in a connected state of a protocol for controlling radio resources and configured to communicate with the DU via a first BWP; configures, via the DU, the UE to communicate with the DU on a second BWP in a non-connected state of the protocol; and performs, via the DU, SDT with the UE operating in the non-connected state of the protocol.
