The method includes: The electronic device displays a first interface, where the first interface includes a first window of a first application; in response to a first operation of a user on the first interface, displays a first trajectory corresponding to the first operation, where the first trajectory surrounds at least a part of a first target; in response to ending the first operation by the user, converts the first trajectory into a second trajectory, displays the second trajectory, and displays a first control on the second trajectory, where the second trajectory is determined based on an edge of the first target, and the first target is located in the second trajectory.
