DEVELOPING CARTRIDGE HAVING ELECTRODE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18408694 titled 'DEVELOPING CARTRIDGE HAVING ELECTRODE

The developing cartridge described in the patent application consists of a casing, a developer-carrying member, a supply member, a developing electrode, a supply electrode, and an insulating member.

  • The casing holds the developer within it.
  • The developer-carrying member rotates around a rotational axis and carries the developer.
  • The supply member provides the developer to the developer-carrying member.
  • The developing electrode is electrically connected to the developer-carrying member.
  • The supply electrode is electrically connected to the supply member.
  • The insulating member insulates the developing electrode and the supply electrode from each other.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in printers and photocopiers for efficient development of images. - It can also be applied in industrial settings for high-volume printing needs.

Problems Solved: - Ensures proper distribution of developer for accurate image development. - Prevents electrical interference between the developing and supply electrodes.

Benefits: - Improved image quality and consistency. - Enhanced reliability and longevity of printing equipment.

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Developing Cartridge Technology for Printers and Photocopiers This technology can revolutionize the printing industry by providing more reliable and efficient development of images, leading to higher quality prints and increased productivity. It can be marketed to printer manufacturers and businesses with high printing demands.

Questions about Developing Cartridge Technology: 1. How does the insulating member contribute to the functionality of the developing cartridge? The insulating member ensures that the developing electrode and supply electrode do not interfere with each other electrically, maintaining the proper functioning of the cartridge.

2. What are the key advantages of using a rotating developer-carrying member in this cartridge design? The rotating developer-carrying member allows for even distribution of the developer, resulting in consistent and high-quality image development.

Original Abstract Submitted

A developing cartridge includes a casing, a developer-carrying member, a supply member, a developing electrode, a supply electrode, and an insulating member. The casing is configured to accommodate therein developer. The developer-carrying member is configured to rotate about a rotational axis and carry the developer thereon. The supply member is configured to supply the developer to the developer-carrying member. The developing electrode is configured to be electrically connected to the developer-carrying member. The supply electrode is configured to be electrically connected to the supply member. The insulating member insulates the developing electrode and the supply electrode with each other. The developing electrode, the insulating member, and the supply electrode are overlapped in this order in an axial direction of the rotational axis.
