ELECTRONIC APPARATUS AND ITS CONTROL METHOD, AND ACCESSORY AND ITS CONTROL METHOD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18349007 titled 'ELECTRONIC APPARATUS AND ITS CONTROL METHOD, AND ACCESSORY AND ITS CONTROL METHOD

Simplified Explanation

- This patent application describes an electronic apparatus that can be attached to an accessory. - The electronic apparatus has two processing units that can communicate with the accessory using different communication methods. - The first processing unit receives information from the accessory using the first communication method. - The second processing unit uses the accessory information to communicate with the accessory using the second communication method. - The electronic apparatus has two power states - a higher power state and a lower power state. - In both power states, the first processing unit can communicate with the accessory using the first communication method. - However, in the lower power state, the second processing unit cannot communicate with the accessory using the second communication method. - This innovation allows for efficient power management and communication with the accessory.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic apparatus to which an accessory is detachably attached includes a first processing unit communicable with the accessory by a first communication method, and a second processing unit communicable with the accessory by a second communication method. The first processing unit receives accessory information from the accessory by the first communication method. The second processing unit communicates with the accessory by the second communication method based on the accessory information. The electronic apparatus has a first power state and a second power state in which power is lower than that of the first power state. The first processing unit communicates with the accessory by the first communication method in the first power state and the second power state. The second processing unit communicates with the accessory by the second communication method in the first power state, but does not in the second power state.
