Direct Current (DC) Location Reporting for Intra-Band Uplink Carrier Aggregation (CA) - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18031297 titled 'Direct Current (DC) Location Reporting for Intra-Band Uplink Carrier Aggregation (CA)

Simplified Explanation

- The patent application describes methods for a user equipment (UE) to transmit uplink (UL) data in a wireless network using carrier aggregation (CA). - The methods involve determining active UL bandwidth parts (BWPs) associated with multiple component carriers (CCs) within a frequency band. - The methods also involve determining the transmit direct current (TX DC) location for the active UL BWPs. - The UE selectively sends an indication of the UL TX DC location to the wireless network. - The UE transmits data arranged in OFDM symbols with the UL TX DC location via the active UL BWPs. - The patent application also includes methods for the wireless network (network nodes) and UEs to perform these methods. - The innovation aims to improve the efficiency and performance of UL data transmission in wireless networks using carrier aggregation.

Original Abstract Submitted

Embodiments include methods for a user equipment (UE) to transmit uplink (UL) data in a wireless network based on carrier aggregation (CA). Such methods include determining active UL bandwidth parts (BWPs) associated with at least two component carriers (CCs) within a frequency band; and determining at least one UL transmit direct current (TX DC) location for the active UL BWPs. Such methods also include selectively sending an indication of the at least one UL TX DC location to the wireless network. In some cases, such methods include transmitting, to the wireless network via the active UL BWPs, data arranged in at least one OFDM symbol having the respective at least one UL TX DC location. Other embodiments include complementary methods for a wireless network (e.g., one or more network nodes), as well as UEs and wireless networks configured to perform such methods.
