METHODS, SYSTEM, AND APPARATUS FOR UPLINK RESOURCE MUTING OPERATION IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

  • This abstract for appeared for US patent application number 17787820 Titled 'METHODS, SYSTEM, AND APPARATUS FOR UPLINK RESOURCE MUTING OPERATION IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION'

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a technology that allows wireless devices to mute certain resource elements used for communication. The method involves the device obtaining configuration data that indicates the frequency density of muted resource blocks. Based on this information, the device identifies a group of resource elements within the muted blocks and determines a muted resource pattern (MRP) for the scheduled transmission. The device then transmits the allocation of resource blocks for the transmission without using the identified group of resource elements in the MRP.

Original Abstract Submitted

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for muting resource elements used for wireless communications is disclosed. In one aspect, a method can include actions of obtaining, by user equipment (UE), configuration data that indicates a frequency density of muted resource blocks, identifying, by the UE and based on a value of an antenna ports information element in downlink control information (DCI) that schedules a PUSCH transmission, a group of resource elements within the muted resource blocks, determining, by the UE, a muted resource pattern (MRP) within the RBs for the scheduled PUSCH based on the frequency density of the muted resource blocks and the identified group of resource elements, and transmitting, by the UE, an allocation of RBs for PUSCH without transmission on the identified group of resource elements of the determined MRP.
