Transmission Of Sounding Reference Signal (Srs) Based On Srs Transmit Antenna Port Switching - A simplified explanation of the abstract

  • This abstract for appeared for US patent application number 17442579 Titled 'Transmission Of Sounding Reference Signal (Srs) Based On Srs Transmit Antenna Port Switching'

Simplified Explanation

The present application is about devices and components that can perform SRS transmission when a UE (User Equipment) supports SRS Tx antenna port switching. SRS (Sounding Reference Signal) is a signal used in wireless communication systems for channel estimation. The application describes a method where a determination is made to see if a scheduled SRS transmission will affect a scheduled DL (Downlink) reception due to the SRS Tx antenna port switching. If it does, the SRS transmission and/or the DL reception can be changed accordingly. The application also mentions that the UE can support an SRS TA (Timing Advance) capability along with the SRS Tx antenna port switching capability. SRS TA is a mechanism used to adjust the timing of SRS transmission. In this case, SRS TA can be applied to a scheduled SRS transmission.

Original Abstract Submitted

The present application relates to devices and components including apparatus, systems, and methods to perform SRS transmission when a UE supports SRS Tx antenna port switching. In an example, a determination is made about whether a scheduled SRS transmission impacts a scheduled DL reception given the SRS Tx antenna port switching. If so, the SRS transmission and/or the DL reception are changed. In a further example, the UE can supports an SRS TA capability in conjunction with the SRS Tx antenna port switching capability. In this example, SRS TA can be applied to a scheduled SRS transmission.
