INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240135818 titled 'INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes an information processing apparatus that manages parking reservations for vehicles, specifically focusing on vehicles that require charging. The system confirms the availability of a parking spot with a charging station for the first vehicle, and if no spot is available, it reallocates the reservation to a different parking lot for the first vehicle while accommodating the needs of other vehicles in the queue.

  • Input interface accepts parking reservation for a vehicle
  • Controller confirms availability of parking spot with charging station for first vehicle
  • Completes reservation for first vehicle if spot is available
  • Reallocates reservation to a different parking lot for first vehicle if no spot is available
  • Accommodates needs of other vehicles in queue based on predetermined conditions

Potential Applications

The technology could be applied in parking management systems for electric vehicles, ensuring efficient allocation of charging spots while maximizing parking availability for all vehicles.

Problems Solved

This technology solves the problem of efficiently managing parking reservations for electric vehicles that require charging, ensuring that all vehicles are accommodated while prioritizing those with specific needs.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include optimized parking allocation for electric vehicles, increased efficiency in managing charging stations, and improved overall user experience for drivers of electric vehicles.

Potential Commercial Applications

"Optimized Parking Reservation System for Electric Vehicles: Enhancing Efficiency and User Experience"

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be a parking reservation system that prioritizes vehicles with specific needs, such as accessible parking spots for disabled drivers.

Unanswered Questions

How does the system determine the predetermined conditions for reallocating reservations to different parking lots?

The patent application does not provide specific details on how the system defines and applies the predetermined conditions for reallocating reservations.

What measures are in place to prevent reservation conflicts or errors in the system?

The patent application does not address potential conflicts or errors that may arise in the reservation reallocation process.

Original Abstract Submitted

an information processing apparatus includes an input interface that accepts a parking reservation for a vehicle for which parking is desired, and a controller that confirms, when the vehicle for which parking is desired is a first vehicle whose purpose for parking includes charging, whether there is an opening for reservation of a first parking lot having a charging station, completes acceptance of reservation of the first parking lot for the first vehicle when there is an opening, changes a reservation of the first parking lot for at least one second vehicle, selected based on a predetermined condition from among one or more reservation holding vehicles for which acceptance of reservation of the first parking lot is completed, to a reservation of a second parking lot based on the predetermined condition when there is no opening, and completes acceptance of reservation of the first parking lot for the first vehicle.
