ORCHESTRATION SERVICE FOR DATABASE REPLICATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240126779 titled 'ORCHESTRATION SERVICE FOR DATABASE REPLICATION
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a technique for implementing an orchestration service for data replication. This technique involves storing a recipe that includes configuration parameters and executable logic for a data replication operation with multiple sub-steps. User input is used to update the configuration parameters, and the data replication operation is initiated by processing the executable logic and making API calls to a data replication service.
- Explanation of the patent/innovation:
* Recipe stored with configuration parameters and executable logic * User input updates configuration parameters * Data replication operation initiated by processing executable logic and making API calls to a data replication service
Potential Applications
This technology can be applied in various industries such as cloud computing, data backup services, disaster recovery solutions, and database management systems.
Problems Solved
1. Streamlining the data replication process 2. Simplifying configuration and execution of data replication tasks
Benefits
1. Improved efficiency in data replication operations 2. Customizable configuration parameters for specific replication needs 3. Automation of data replication tasks
Potential Commercial Applications
Optimizing data backup services for businesses
Possible Prior Art
One possible prior art could be the use of configuration files and scripts to automate data replication tasks in computer systems.
Unanswered Questions
How does this technique handle errors or failures during the data replication process?
The abstract does not provide information on how errors or failures are managed and resolved during the data replication operation.
What security measures are in place to protect the data being replicated?
The abstract does not mention any security measures or protocols implemented to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the replicated data.
Original Abstract Submitted
techniques for implementing an orchestration service for data replication are provided. in one technique, a recipe is stored that comprises (1) a set of configuration parameters and (2) executable logic, for a data replication operation, that comprises multiple sub-steps. each sub-step corresponds to one or more configuration parameters in the set of configuration parameters, which includes a first parameter that is associated with a default value and a second parameter that is not so associated. user input that specifies a value for the second parameter is received. the set of configuration parameters is updated to associate the value with the second parameter. the data replication operation is then initiated by processing the executable logic, which processing comprises, for each sub-step of one or more sub-steps, making an api call to a data replication service. in response to each api call, a response is received from the data replication service.
