AIR CONDITIONER - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240117991 titled 'AIR CONDITIONER

Simplified Explanation

The air conditioner described in the patent application includes a base panel with communication holes, a variable panel that can open and close these holes, and a driving device to control the variable panel's shape.

  • Base panel with communication holes:
   - First communication hole on one side
   - Second communication hole on another side
  • Variable panel:
   - Positioned under the base panel
   - Can change shape to open and close the communication holes
   - Includes a first cover part for the first hole, a second cover part for the second hole, and a variable part between them
  • Driving device:
   - Located on the upper side of the base panel
   - Changes the position of one side of the variable panel in an up-down direction to alter its shape

Potential Applications: This technology could be used in various air conditioning systems to control airflow and temperature more efficiently.

Problems Solved: This innovation solves the issue of regulating airflow in air conditioners by providing a mechanism to open and close communication holes as needed.

Benefits: The benefits of this technology include improved energy efficiency, better temperature control, and potentially longer lifespan for air conditioning units.

Potential Commercial Applications: This technology could be applied in residential and commercial air conditioning units, HVAC systems, and other climate control devices.

Possible Prior Art: One possible prior art could be adjustable vents in air conditioning systems that allow for some control over airflow direction and intensity.

Unanswered Questions: 1. How does this technology compare to existing methods of controlling airflow in air conditioners? 2. Are there any limitations to the variable panel design in terms of durability or maintenance requirements?

Original Abstract Submitted

the air conditioner according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a base panel having a first communication hole formed in one side thereof, and a second communication hole formed in another side thereof; a variable panel disposed under the base panel and changed in shape to open and close the first communication hole and the second communication hole; and a driving device disposed on an upper side of the base panel and changing a position of one side of the variable panel in an up-down direction, so that the variable panel is changed in shape, wherein the variable panel includes: a first cover part disposed under the base panel to open and close the first communication hole; a second cover part disposed under the base panel to open and close the second communication hole; and a variable part disposed between the first cover part and the second cover part, and changing an inclination angle of the first cover part and the second cover part.
